Louis Schornstein, NMLS #5490, shares his best tips, tricks and secrets to have an amazing home buying experience in New Jersey. A native of Randolph, New Jersey, Louis Schornstein got his first taste of housing-related business when, as an Eagle Scout Project, he helped an elderly neighbor secure a Historic Property Designation for her home. He continued on this path by putting himself through college while working in the housing-related financial services industry, and by establishing the first ever intern position at the Randolph Township Planning Office. Louis received his B.A. from the Edward J. Blaustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University in 1992. He spent the next 16 years at the helm of a home improvement company focused on point of sales finance. It was during this time Louis became interested in mortgage lending. He has been a licensed residential mortgage banker since 2004, and has been privileged to serve the New Jersey State Troopers' community since 2010. Louis credits his success in life to the work ethic instilled in him by his father, the late Col. Stuart Schornstein (USAF Ret.), and the support of his family.
