The blade has 22 layers of Japanese Damascus stainless steel around a hard VG10 steel cutting core, provid ing a sharp edge and scratch and stain resistance. Suncraft's 60/40 edge uses a 12° side for effortless slicing and an 18° side for added durability. The hammered tsuchime finish helps the well-balanced blade glide easily through food without sticking. The rounded pakkawood handle is smooth and comfortable in hand and features a red ring between the bolster and the handle.
