It’s May 25, 1813. Young Jonathan Westlake, Upper Canada’s first secret agent in the War of 1812, is home for a much needed rest when he spots masses of tall white sails billowing in the wind across a glistening Lake Ontario. The American fleet has decided on a bloody invasion of the Niagara Peninsula, and Westlake is plunged neck-deep in a life-and-death struggle to stop them. A few unlikely heroines, Laura Secord among them, also put their loyalty and bravery to the test by coming to the aid of the British army and their vital native allies. In a battle to the finish, this time Westlake’s success or failure will determine the well-being of not only his mother and his fiancée, but also the very future for supremacy in Upper Canada.
