- Gently wash face with mild cleanser. Do not scrub hard. Make sure hands are clean. Sterilize acne or blemish as well as the blemish removal tool. Starting with clean skin, hold a clean, warm damp towel over the area to be treated for 5-10 minutes to open the pores (alternately, treat right after a warm shower). Disinfect skin and the tool with alcohol. Encircle the blemish or clogged pore with the end of the loop, then apply light, even pressure, rocking the tool back and forth. If the blemish does not loosen, it may not be ready to be extracted. Do not continue to attempt extraction. Finish by disinfecting the treated area. To Remove Blackheads: Center the loop of the extractor over the pimple you want to remove, and rocking the tool gently from side to side while applying slight pressure. The blackhead in its entirety will be pulled from the follicle and you will see oil ooze from the pore. To Remove Whiteheads: Whiteheads may need to be lanced before performing the same action.
